There are some opinions that battlefield tourism is not a good idea because of the fact that it becomes so commercial that it's real value is damaged.
However, this kind of opinion should consider about effect of being commercial. Being commercial gives lots of financial benefits. With financial benefits, battlefield can provide well preserved battlefield and with battlefield souvenir, many people can remember battlefield through these souvenirs. Actually, our country seized the war during sixty years, there is few battlefield tourism such as Hyunchungwon. What is worse, Hyunchungwon's facility is so poor that our children can not get impressive memory.
Because of this reason, battlefield tourism which is commercial is a good idea to preserve the memory of battlefield.

FInancial benefit is important to preserve the place well.
However, if it goes too much on the financial aspect, the spirit of patriotism can be disappeared.
Therefore, it is important to support money to give not only entertainment, but also more beneficial information.

I think battlefield tourirsm in Korean and in America are different. In Korea, battlefield tourism is under poor condition. They do not have programs that help tourists know its' historical backgrounds or programs like imaginary battles for children. It's hard to say that they are too commercial, because they are just in a state of neglect. However, as we read in the text book, Gettysburg seems that it's losing battlefiled tourism's purpose like reflection on the sacrifices.
So I think that Korean battlefields should be more promoted in every possible way and commercial way can be one way of preserving battlefields. Also we should try to
stick to tourism's purpose like cherishing the war dead and tracing the history.

I totally agree with you. Being commercial is a problem only when it goes too much. Ideal commercialization will involve the place with financial assistance properly.
It will help preserve the place and attract more people and give them desirable lessons in an efficient way. Moreover, the officials will be able to create a variety of programs or activities according to visitors' age level, so that everyone can fully understand the meaning of the place. We shouldn't regard 'being commercialized' only as a bad thing. Of course, Getting commercialized, a high possibility of being damaged, and corrupted will always threaten the place. In order to prevent going worse, it should be monitored by the government, local authority or NGO.
