My grandfather was also an electrical engineer and a mechanical engineer.

He designed and built steam locomotives for the Pennsylvania Railroad back in the good old days.

I think the main ingredients of his success were intelligence and tenacity.

He was naturally gifted and smart, plus he never quit trying or gave up on a project. He was incredibly persistent and resolute. Once he set his mind on something, he went for it, no matter what the cost.
