New York CityOverview:
+great museums, great music, great food, diverse people, excitement.
-very expensive.
I was born in a suburb of New York, and went to college in another suburb of New York. I've spent more time in New York than in any other American City.
I love New York, but it's too expensive to be my top choice. If you live in Manhattan, you're going to spend a lot of money. If you don't live in Manhattan, you're going to spend time, money, and energy trying to get there. Of course, once you're there you'll be amazed. I can't really describe Manhattan; it's just awesome.
Public transportation is good, but not cheap. A subway ride is 2.00 in NYC. Bus fares vary from 1.50 - 4.00. It's almost always better to buy a Metro Card.
There are lots of great museums, including The Met. There's also lots of great food (most of which isn't cheap).
There are so many bars and clubs, but if you like blues you can try The 55 Bar and Grill (try to catch Sweet Georgia Brown).
