Do you want to study English as a second language in Boston?

Boston

Overview:

+ Good public transportation, excellent museums, good nightlife, lots of things to do and people to meet.

- Some students don't like the Boston accent.

Aside from Philadelphia, this is the city I recommend most highly. I think it's more exciting than Philadelphia and almost as exciting as New York. Plus Boston is not as expensive as New York. I've been there many times, and I liked it so much that I seriously considered moving there after I graduated college. If you've seen the TV show "Ally McBeal" than you've seen a little bit of Boston.

The public transportation is convenient and less expensive than New York's public transportation. There are lots of exciting people, great museums (check out the amazing glass flowers at this Harvard museum), and interesting architecture. One thing to consider is that many people from Boston have a Boston accent, but most of the English learners I know prefer the accents from New York and Washington D.C. Before making up your mind about Boston, learn more about Boston English. You should also remember that you'll be making international friends and your teacher may not have a Boston accent.
