ESL go.com's "Don't Cry" English listening class introduction

ESLgo.com does not charge for this online class. You will, however, need to listen to the song "Don't Cry" by Guns N' Roses. The song is available on Use Your Illusion 1, an album I used to listen to a lot when I was in high school. You can try to find it in your local music store or you can purchase it from Amazon.com:

This class starts with a focus on listening. The focus then switches to vocabulary and interpreting the song. Finally, you will be encouraged to talk about the song.

Warm up:

"Don't Cry" is a love song so you might want to discuss these questions with a friend or on the Relationships message board.

1. Have you ever broken up with a boyfriend or girlfriend?
2. What happened?

Listen for general understanding

Listen to the song "Don't Cry". Judging from the words and/or the mood of the song, how do you think the singer feels (happy, sad, angry, nervous, etc.)?
